Ebooks (Final version)

People can have two opinions about ebooks. There are people for and people against them, and both have arguments to stand their opinions. This electronic devices are used to read and in the future they could make printed books become extinct, this is the cause of all the controversy they have produced.
The ones for say that these ebooks are good in order to save paper and ink, which comes from the oil, and are really light, however long the book is. It's also good for the people who have problems with the light that is reflected on the book. Another good thing is that these books can be downloaded from the internet and are cheaper than printed ones.
The others say that ebooks are really bad, because they can erase the printed ones, which would be really bad for editorials, and people couldn't publish the books they wrote and they couldn't earn any money from them.
In my opinion ebooks have a good side and a bad one, but I think they are good enough, cheaper and lighter.

EBOOKS (final version)

EBooks are a new technology, with which we can read books and documents if we download them on the tablet. Nowadays eBooks are used more often  but they have both advantages and disadvantages.

EBooks allow you to store a wide range of books in one place, also computer documents. In addition, it makes it easier to take loads of books at once, because it is very light. Another advantatge would be that it's more eco-friendly because as we cut down less trees we save paper.

On the other hand, eBooks have made book shops go out of business. Also it doesn't feel the same reading from an eBook than reading a normal book, although eBooks have a special light to read,  I think that it's better to read an ordinary book.

In conclusion, eBooks are the future books, and I believe that  books will disappear.

EBOOKS (final version)

Nowadays electronic books are replacing books little by little. Every day it is more frequent to see people with an ebook in their hands instead of a paper book. Ebooks, like all the new tecnologies, are creating a lot of debates.

On the one hand, ebooks are positive because to buy an ebook costs, more or less, the same as buying five or six paper books and then, you can have all the books you want and if you don't like a book the only thing you have to do is delete it, without worring about how much it cost you. Another reason for ebooks is that they are smaller and lighter than traditional ones and they can also store more than a thousand books. In addition, they are enviromentally friendly because paper isn't use to produce it.

On the other hand, with ebooks, you don't feel the sensation of having a real book in your hands and you cannot feel the smell or  the touch of  the paper. Another reason against ebooks is that you have to check or charge the battery every time you want to go with it somewhere. In addition, because of ebooks a lot of libraries, book shops and editorials can be affected or even get closed.

To conclude, I think that ebooks are a very useful invention, especially for those who really like reading. Personally, I think that nothing can be compared to the sensation of feeling the book in your hands but I'm not against ebooks, I even have one, especially because I can't afford to buy as many books as I would like.

E-BOOKS C2

The e-books or ebooks are publications that support the role but not a computer file. An e-book can be a novel, a newspaper article, a technical text ... Its uniqueness is that it has the form of electronic saving and storage occurs, therefore, in a computer: floppy disc, CD-Rom and especially on the Internet.

The most remarkable advantage of these kinds of books is that they are ecologically economic. This means that in their making process, they help to save natural resources like trees, paper or energy. At the same time that they are environmentally friendly, they are light, more comfortable and, at last, cheaper that the traditional books, once you purchase the electronic device.

Talking about the disadvantages, we can say that the most important problem you can find when you get one of these books is that there is a big lack of titles in this electronic format. The reason of this is just the problems that some printing companies are finding when they try to manage the publishing rights of their texts.

In my opinion, we can conclude that these kind of new reading books are the evolution of the paper ones. The two faces of the coin are, in one way that the e-books are lightly, more comfortable and, the most important issue, they help to keep the environment saving trees. The other face of the coin is that the evolution in the offer of books in an electronically way is working in a dangerous path for the printing industry which trends to disappear.

EBOOK C2

In the last five years the sales of digital books have tripled. Ebooks are becoming very popular among the population that likes to read. There are more and more buyers, but like any gadget, there are for and against reasons for buying one.

One the one hand, ebooks are easy to manage, you are able to highlight and add notes to certain sections in the book. One of the arguments for is the price, because even if when you buy it it looks expensive,  over time_ is profitable because it contains several books that can be expensive each one of them. They're easily portable. You can carry lots books on one device. Easy to get content, when you finish a book you feel an urge to know more about this book almost instantly, and have another book in your possession.

The arguments against buying ebooks are that ebooks are not more eco-friendly than paper books, they're easily obtainable in bookstores or anywhere,  they're easily portable, they don't normally cause significant eye-strain and they don't need batteries.

In conclusion,  having an ebook is cheaper than having lots of books and also easier to manage, but I can understand people who want to have their own books in their library to make their home a better place.

EBooks VS traditional books. C2

Nowadays EBooks are a new method of reading. With this instrument you can read,  without a traditional book, on an electronic table. Furthermore,  you can do other things, like connecting on the Internet or have photos on it, in some cases. But, this new articles has some advantages and disadvantages.

On the one hand, I think that this is a great invention that facility our lives and it’s more practical because you can have many books on it, instead of having more than fifty real books on your personal library. For that reason people buy it.

On the other hand, this has some disadvantages because people buy the digital version of books, but ___it isn’t the same feeling than reading a paper book (WO). In addition, many people prefer to have real books in their house library and not only one object.

To conclude, this is a great invention, but I don’t like reading so much but I think ___that_ is better for me to have an EBook because _it___ is easier to take anywhere.

E-BOOK FINAL VERSION

Nowadays, you can see many people with the so-called e-book. The e-book has become as fashionable as tablets, smartphones, etc.. But does this mean it's better than the paper book?

On the one hand, one of the advantages the e-book  has is that it is like a tablet, small and easy to carry. You can take several books in one. Another positive reason is that books are much cheaper and you can buy more, and authors receive much higher benefits. Also, to manufacture e-books, people don't cut the trees and this is very positive for the environment.

On the other hand, some disadvantages of e-books, are for example, that they  depend on the battery and on the electric power they need. Another disadvantage of the e-book is that  they  are  expensive. And also, the ebook can break more easily and have glitches.

In conclusion, e-books have been a good invention, like other electronic devices . I think that both the paper book and the e-book are good choices, and each with its advantages and disadvantages. For me, depending on the situation the paper book is better than the e-book.

EBOOKS C2

Nowadays, there are a lot of people who have ebooks, which are devices that have books in digital form. This is an electronic device that has become very fashionable, but like everything, there are reasons for and against buying one.

First, one of the arguments in favour of people buying an ebook is that they can carry a lot of books. Moreover, it’s much cheaper because while each traditional book is worth about twenty euros, while ebooks costs a hundred euros, so when one person buys five books, another buys an eBook, as well as all the books he or she wants, for the same price.

By contrast, we find arguments against eBooks. Firstly, it’s not the same to see the book on a screen as it’s to read a traditional book made of paper. In addition, many people prefer to have paper books and keep them in their libraries, as they can make a house look more homely.

In conclusion, I think it's not only much more convenient to use an eBook but it’s also a fact that they are much cheaper than traditional books. However, I also understand those people who prefer to have their libraries full of real books.

E-Books (final version)

A few years ago nobody knew about e-books, but actually this new way of reading is becoming more popular.

On the one hand, e-books are more comfortable to read, because you can have many books in your e-book and they don't occupy space (point against paper books). Paper books are heavier than e-books and you can carry your e-book wherever you want because they are portable. E-books are environmentally friendly, since they are not made of paper and therefore no trees have to be cut down. . Virtual books are  cheaper than paper books because editorials don't need to manufacture them, they only have to copy them in their computers and sell them. A lot of people think that ebook screens hurt your eyes but actually it's false, because most of the new e-books use a special screen with ink which doesn't hurt your eyes and you have the feeling that you are reading a paper book.

On the other hand, a lot of people prefer to use a paper book because they prefer the sensation of touching paper rather than  an ebook screen. Virtual books hurt the editorials which sell their books, because a lot of people upload the books illegally without selling them and you can download them from the Internet to your ebook without paying and it is bad for the editorials which earn money selling books.

To sump it, a few years ago I used to read paper books because I like feeling the paper, but actually  paper books are too expensive and you can find the same book for free. If the cost of the paper books went down, maybe I would buy them again.

EBOOKS (final version)

Nowadays there are a lot of people who use electronic books, which are known as ebooks, because since their appearance they have become very popular among  readers. There are arguments both for and against this kind of book.

On the one hand, ebooks are a very positive invention because they are cheaper for those readers who like reading a lot in their free time. Therefore, ebooks allow keen readers to have more books at their disposal and not have to spend so much money on buying books, because e-books have the capacity to store many books.  In addition, e-books are more ecological as they aren’t made of paper and therefore no trees have to be cut down . Furthermore, ebooks allow you not to take so much weight when you want to take a book somewhere, as you have all the books together.

On the other hand, there are people who think that E-books have disadvantages. For example, the battery needs to be charged, and if you go on a trip and you forget to take the charger you will not able to read you if the battery is flat.  Furthermore, some books are very difficult to find in digital version and it is possible that you spend a long time finding it, while paper books are normally always in the book shops. Another disadvantage is that book shops are losing customers, because every day there are more and more people who use ebooks.

To conclude, I think that e-books allow people to have many books at the same time. However I think that paper books shouldn’t disappear.

EBOOKS VERSUS PAPER BOOKS (FINAL VERSION)

Currently eBooks have become the best thing to give at Christmas or Birthdays. Lots of people prefer them to paper books. But are they really good for us and our society?

On the one hand, eBooks are very easy to carry and quite light so you can carry  them with you wherever you go. In addition, an eBook is environmentally friendly because it doesn’t waste ink or paper from cutting trees and this is an important thing for the environment. Furthermore, one of the strongest arguments for eBooks is that they can download and keep thousands of books and they don’t need a big bookcase to put them there. You just have to put them away in a drawer. Finally, eBooks are - much cheaper than only a book and they are a good option if you love reading.

On the other hand, there are some ideas against eBooks. Firstly, they could make bookshops or libraries close because of their reduction of sales or visitors. Secondly, reading in front of a screen is not good for our health because it can produce eyestrain. What’s more, next generations won’t know what a book or paper is. They won’t feel the sense of having a book in their hands and - the smell of the paper either. Therefore, and eBook is just a technological machine so it can break down and you could lose all your books you had. Because of this, then you will have neither and eBook nor a paper book.

On balance, I think eBooks are a great idea but, in my case, I wouldn’t buy them because I don’t like reading on a screen, neither a book nor anything. Also, I don’t want to have more eye  problems than I have. All in all, I prefer paper books.

E-BOOKS C3

Nowadays technology has become our lifestyle and it modifies all/ everything around us. The same happens with the new electronic book known as e-book. But what will happen with books? Is it the end of paper books?

On the one hand, the new e-books have a lot of advantages, this kind of books are, above all, portable, you don’t have to take a heavy book, you only need the/a  tablet, which is smaller than a book. E-books are environmentally friendly, that is another pro versus paper books.

On the other hand, with e-books you can’t feel the paper in your hands, you touch the panel, and you can’t go through the pages. It's true that the continuous use of this digital book can cause eye strain, which is bad for our health.

To sum up, I think that the e-book is a great advance in the world of technology, but in my view I prefer the traditional book, I like to feel it, although I’m not against e-books.

E-BOOKS C2

After thousands of years using paper for books, now, we have been viewing how our paper friends have their days limited. The cause? The new technologies: the digital book or e-book. More and more, the new type of book wins sphere respect the ‘’ancient’’. But, what are the advantages and disadvantages of e-books?

On the one hand, the digital book is smaller than the traditional, and can keep hundreds of books! Besides, although that’s illegal, people can download a lot of titles for free. Nevertheless, if you want to pay, you can buy the book you want in some websites. In addition, if you have an e-book you needn’t buy more paper books and, consequently, you’re environmentally friendly.

On the other hand, some people think that have an e-book in hands isn’t ‘’real’’, it isn't seem the traditional and it doesn’t produce the same ‘’satisfaction’’ than a real book. Moreover, they complain the price. A normal e-book can cost around 70 or 80 Euros. However, this argument is a little poor because, if you like reading; you will spend much money buying normal books in your life. That is, later an e-book will result cheaper.

In my opinion, e-books have a lot of advantages and the idea of be environmentally friendly is very important forme. In my view, the price is not important because I read a lot, but the sensation of having a paper book in hands is bigger. Nevertheless, I’m absolutely in favor of e-books and I think that the digital and the traditional book can coexist and live together.

Ebooks or paper books? C1

Ebooks appeared like a solution to carry all the books you want in a digital book. You can carry  more than 1000 books in your handbag or your backpack anywhere you want. That is very comfortable but, do you like to read your books on a screen?

On the one hand that it's better because you can have all the books you like and you don't need yo buy it. More than 10000 books in a simple appliance are incredible! I had never imagined that we could have so many books in a screen. Futhermore, it's environmentally friendly because it doesn't waste paper and this reduce deforestation. Moreover, the ebooks are quick and easy to use it versus buy them on a library.

On the other hand many of the books are difficult to use when you have low battery and it’s hard to read outdoors and causes eye strain. Though this means a reduction of deforestation, the emotion you have when you have a book on your hands, you can't feel with the ebook. Finally the quality of the writing can vary immensely but in a paper book not: you read a confident book.

In conlcusion I think that I will never change the paper books for an electronic book, although I could have all the books I like. I love reading and you can call me geek, but I like the cover, the inside front cover and the smell of the pages. We have to buy the original paper books!

                                                                                                                  Yaiza Alonso Beltrán. 2nd B.

EBOOKS C3

Nowadays, people are using more and more eBooks, what's going to happen with the traditional books? Will we destroy it/ them?

On the one hand, eBooks can cause significant eye-strain, and are more expensive than a normal book. Traditional books are cheaper and we can easily obtain one in book stores or in a library, and we cannot exchange it with friends.

On the other hand, eBooks are lighter and we can have thousands of books in it/ them. EBooks are expensive, but we can pay them off in a short time, because its cheaper to get a book.

To conclude,  despite the fact that it can cause eye-strain, it's a good invention because you can get lots of books in a few minutes and  helps the environment.

Toni Riera, 2n B

EBOOKS C3

At present more and more people are buying eBooks in spite of their cost. EBooks have become a much discussed issue today. There are many arguments for and against using eBooks or books.

One of the strongest arguments for buying eBooks is that, they doesn't / don't use paper, so trees aren't cut, another argument is the confort to carry them, moreover , they aren't bad for our eyesight by/   thanks to their new technology. On the other hand the new technologies will always be thrown away because this always happens. In addition , does commercial lose control with eBooks ??, but the major disavantage is their high price.

In conclusion, I think if the bussinesmen has control on this bussines, eBooks could be a good option to read and not to destroy the forest.

ARE EBOOKS A GOOD INVENTION? FINAL VERSION

A new way of reading has developed in the last few years. Nowadays, you can choose to read either a paper book or an eBook, both allow you to spend time enjoying a great story.

To start with, eBooks are light and therefore you can carry them with you easily. For example, they are useful when you are travelling because you can have more than one book on your device. Moreover, eBooks are very ecofriendly, so they save a lot of paper and ink. Finally, they are easy to read due to their zoom functions which can make the text bigger.

The main disadvantage of eBooks is that you have to buy a special device in order to be able to read them, which can be expensive. Furthermore, they are bad for our health, because they cause eye strain. In addition to this, many people prefer the “classic” paper books due to the fact that they like the feel of them.

To sum up, I believe that eBooks are a good invention and I prefer them to paper books. In my opinion, society is evolving in many different ways and that includes how we read. I especially like eBooks because they allow us to be more environmentally friendly, and that’s one of the most important concerns of the world today.

E-BOOKS (final version)

Nowadays e-books are becoming a way of reading that more and more people use, but is this really something that favours the new reading? What’s happening to traditional books?

On the one hand, e-books offer more variety of books that you can’t find at a bookshop but you can on the internet. Also this technology allows you to store more than one book and take it from one place to another because it’s portable. Furthermore, this system is cheaper than buying books as you only spend the cost of the e-book and after that you don’t spend any more money.

The down side of this new technology is that you can neither feel the real book, see it, smell it, therefore you don’t really get into the story. In addition, If you read an e-book for many hours it can be bad for your sight.

To conclude, I think that despite the fact that traditional books are more common, this invention is the future for many people and technology is at hand for everyone.

E-BOOKS OR PAPER BOOKS? (FINAL VERSION)

The new technologies have  become an important part of our lives in a little time, computers, televisions, tablets, smartphones.... and, in the last few years,  E-Books.
E-Books have become very popular in a few years, but they create a big controversy too: could  the paper book disappear?

On the one hand, E-Books have lots of advantages. First of all they are lighter than paper books so you can have almost 1.000books in your bag with the same weight and you can carry it whenever you want, because they don’t need lot of space. Moreover, they have a light, so you don’t need a lamp or another source on it. Finally, they are really ecofriendly, because they aren’t made of paper.

On the other hand,  E-books increase piracy, because you can download_ them from the internet without paying anything, so lots of writers could suffer economic problems, moreover, the quality of the books could be bad. Furthermore, as they have an electronic screen, they can cause sight problems, and you have to carry the loader in order to load the battery, which means a waste of energy.

To conclude, I would say that I prefer paper books. I think that it's more gratifying to have a complete collection  of books on your shelf rather than in your computer, but, it’s true that the E-books are more ecofriendly and comfortable than paper ones.

E-BOOKS VS PAPER BOOKS (FINAL VERSION)

Nowadays, when you're sitting in a hospital waiting room, for instance, it's very common to see people reading with an e-book, while a few years ago the most usual thing was to see people with a classic paper book. This new way of reading is becoming more and more popular, but does this mean that paper books will disappear?

On the one hand, e-books have a lot of advantages that have made them become popular in few years. Firstly, they are easy to carry, because you can have more than 1000 different books in it, while paper books are heavy. Another important reason is that they are enviromentally friendly, and it's important because some trees have to be cut in order to make just one book.

On the other hand, paper books have also their positive aspects. For example, with a classic book you will never have to worry about the message appearing in the screen and saying: Battery low! Furthermore, some books are difficult to find in digital version, while you know you always can go to the bookshop near your house and the book you're looking for will be there.

On balance, I think e-books are an excellent invention, because I can download books from the internet in a few minutes, and you don't have to worry if you don't like the book you're reading, you just have to click on "delete" and download another one.
