SHOPPING (CORRECTED)

Everybody sometimes go / goes shopping but do they really need new things? In my point of view/ In my view, nowadays, shopping is an addiction because a lot of people needn’t new things.

Every year fashion changes and in the end people go to buy/ go and buy new clothe/ clothes but some people buy too many things which aren't/ are useless or which  they don't need it/- . Normally, this type of people usually buy expensive things because after that, they feel well. Also these people enjoy telling their friends about the things that they have bought. Personally, I am not addicted to going shopping although I like buying new clothes only when it is necessary. If I need a T-shirt, I go to/ and buy it but I don’t go shopping like it was/ as if it were an obligation.

Consequently, most people are addicted to shopping because they have the necessity to have more and new things.

Do you think unemployment is the worrying problem in Spain today?(FINAL VERSION)

Unemployment is increasing In Spain every day, due to the  economic crisis, which started in America and has spread around the world.

Firstly, I think unemployment is the worst worrying problem in Spain today, because if people haven't a job, they won't have money to do anything.
Secondly, in my view, the worst thing about this problem is that qualified people are emigrating to get a job, because here they are unemployed. I believe that this situation will be worse in the next years, at least in the next four.

In conclusion, people are getting desperate to get a job, because they need money for eat, but I hope that some day  will be work for everyone.

Media and body image (FINAL VERSION)

As time goes by, people are more and more concerned about their body. It may seem a normal worry, but if someone becomes obsessed, then it turns into a really serious problem. Nowadays, many people are affected by this, and as I see it, the media is directly linked.

Firstly, it’s obvious that television is the main responsible factor for this obsession with self-image. Many films, advertisements or reality shows are carried out by gorgeous people, not by “normal” people. Consequently, the audience wants to be like them.

Not only television influences body image, but also magazines. Some magazines advertise slimming products or recommend different diets so that people can feel better about their own body. Especially with diets (with sport too), we have to be aware of our limits, because an excess can lead to health problems.

In conclusion, I would say that the most important thing is to feel good about ourselves, because becoming obsessed with one’s physical appearance (although it’s not my case) can be quite dangerous. Finally, I think that the media should change things to avoid this increasing concern.

Unemployment (FINAL VERSION)

  Nowadays, unemployment is a worrying problem in Spain, some people say that it is the worst one, some people say that the worst is the one we have with politicians and some people say other things.

In my opinion, unemployement is a big problem, but not the worst because this number is not true. Lots of people don’t want to work until their unemployment rate runs out, and there are also people who are working illegaly and are officialy unemployed, in order not to pay to the state.
If these figures were true, and a lot of people were hungry, our politicians, the other big problem I mentioned before, would be in trouble, because the people wouldn’t accept all these reforms, turning back to the XIX century and losing whatever they obtained.
To sum up, unemployement is a big problem, but is not a true one.

Now a days, because  ... the global crisis, shopping is a compulsive act for a lot of people, and why shopping could be (WO) an addiction?

Some people are used to go shopping when they are depressed or nervous, after a time, they need to buy something every time they are depressed or nervous. This behavior is considered an addiction, because they need to shop and they feel better after have done it. These typ of people need help from psychologists or doctors. But they are a little group of people. Other people are affected by ... media, which shows them lot of stupid products and finally people buy unnecessary things.In spite of the sales are the principal (WW) cause of shopping, because when we see a sale (WW), we think that it is a bargain and buy it. Furthermore if the sales are on (prep) Christmas, the purchases are bigger. Some people, after buy(Y) something, feel bad and worse before buy(T) it, because they regret of buy (T) without ...reason.

I think that some people need help to overcome their addiction, but shopping isn’t always an addiction, when we buy something without reason, it could be because of propaganda. In my opinion, we shouldn’t pay attention to publicity, because this want to we(G) buy their products.

SHOPPING (final version)

Nowadays, the sales have become  a very important thing for shopkeepers to increase the sales, so I think that sales are good to promote the economy. 

Firstly, sales help shopkeepers to sell stocks that were left over because they have not achieved to sell them. As a result , shopkeepers have to lower the prices of their products to sell  them and increase their profits. Secondly, sales are one alternative to promote the economy as owning to the crisis people spend less on superficial or unnecessary things such as clothes or technology and in this manner, when people see the lowest prices they buy more and therefore spend more, and this increases both the profits of traders and the economy. Finally, buyers can buy more things and  take advantage to spend less money.

Personally, on  the one hand I think that sales are a very good alternative to sell more products left in stocks and on the other hand sales are a solution to incentive the economy.

Nowaday the sales, above all, after Christmas, is when shops reduce prices of expensive articles, this produces/ causes large/ long queues, moreover, a lot of people are waiting all night or in sleeping bags, to buy cheap goods.

On the one hand, most people when they go shoping, needs/ when most people go shopping, they need to buy something, although they don't need it, only to take up in the wardrop/ wardrobe. But they buy for/ because of  television advertising on TV, etc...

On the other hand some people don't know that they could have a problem with shopping like alcoholics. These people sometimes ... bankrupt, because they buy much more than they can. People have an additction when it happens.

In my opinion sales are a cheat created by large companies who/ that only worry about earning money.

EDUCATION (FINAL VERSION)

     Nowadays, children must be prepared to face the tough future that is ahead of them. They are our prospective so we need to take action and try to make it happen. In my opinion, as a possible strategy, teachers should be paid according to how much their students learn.

     Firstly, we need to focus on Selectividad results. If students have learned enough along the year, their marks should be good. For those teachers that get high qualifications in most of their students’ exams, they’ll get an extra payment for their dedication. 

     Secondly, there should be studies in the increase of students’ marks along the scholar-year. If statistics show an excellent progress, teachers will be rewarded with a greater wage at the end of the year.

     All of these incentives will help students to be more prepared for the future. In spite of the many economic problems there are at the moment, education should be a very important point to deal with. So to sum up, let’s spend on education!

Shopping addiction (FINAL VERSION)

In these last years, shopping is more important for our society. It can be said that shopping is an addiction that in some cases it can be very difficult  to control.

Firstly, I think that advertising is one of the  reasons why people have shopping addiction. The shops try to attract more customers with advertising in order that they buy their products, in some cases they can be cheated because the advertising can be deceiving.

Secondly, I believe that the shops change the prices and the things constantly. It is a way to make people who go to the shops see different things and they will want to have them. Therefore, most people buy a lot of things that they don’t need.

In conclusion, it is clear that many people are not conscious when they buy things. As a result we have to know what we really buy and what we need since sometimes they cheat us.

Shopping addiction (FINAL VERSION)

Nowadays, we’re surrounded by advertising. Even if it’s supposed to be a resort to boost economy, it’s obvious that more and more people are becoming completely dependent on shopping. The way I see it, shopping can be actually an addiction.


To start with, any advertisement tries to convince us to buy a certain product by telling us it will make us feel happy, or better yet, that by buying it our life will change. It seems to me that these statements encourage many people to spend, even if they don’t need the things they buy. Consequently, they begin to overspend.


In my view, people that become addicted to shopping must have some kind of mental disorder which makes them believe that spending is the only way to cope with stress. Fortunately, I don’t have this problem.


Finally, I think overspending (due to shopping addiction) not only doesn't make sense if we buy things we'll never use, but it can also replace what really matters: our family and friends.

Tattoos! (FINAL VERSION)

Having a tattoo is a thing that has been in fashion and this accessory is permanent. Many people take this to show off but on occasions it can affect them in their job. In my opinion, tattoos are good, but I wouldn't wear any.

I think that wearing a tattoo should not influence a person in his or her job. First, because employees who have a tattoo can still work well anb be good employees. In addition, a person isn't chosen by an employer because she or he has a tattoo, and he is looking at her or his appearence.

In conclusion, I think that tattoos are a fashion accessory that can be very nice. But we must also think that it is something you do forever and can become annoying.

EVALUATING TEACHERS

d) Schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers and they should be paid according to how mucho their students learn.

Teachers are teaching bad and our idea is ... ask students to evaluate their teachers, and they should be paid according to if their students learn.

I think that's a good idea because; firstly, if teachers win more money, they would pay more attention to their students. Nevertheless, some students could say to their teacher: I'll give you a ten if you'll give me a ten. And that would be a mistake. In addition, if some kid hate his teachers, he could put bad marks to every teacher.
Finally, I belive that this is imposible to do, because schools should put cameras or something to know if teachers teach well, but I'm sure that schools havn't the needed money to put cameras, and, in thay way, remove the mistakes of the idea???.
In conclusion, we should look for other ways to solve mistakes, if we want...  improve ... students' marks.

YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT( final version)

Do you think unemployment is the worst worrying problem in Spain today?

I am sure that now a days unemployment is the most serious problem in our society, because young people unemployment has increased due to high level of school drop-out youth.

On the one hand, the reason for young unemployment could be for example the Spanish educational system. A good educational system is key to achieving employment; abandonment in Spain is the second highest in Europe. With the boom of the real state bubble  numerous opportunities have emerged in the construction sector, for young people without qualifications  that could get generous wages , leaving compulsory education.

On the other hand, I think young people have greater labor vulnerabilities in the current economic crisis, some solutions to solve this serious situation would be for instance collect higher taxes from millionaires, eliminate the monarchy forever, change the structure of the current job market so that there may be more jobs.

In conclusion, the unemployment problem is serious , but there are different solutions to address such as: the promotion of education or training  to prevent dropping out of school, job search support, business assistance and implement special programmes for young people who do not study or are in the labor market.

An amazing adventure

That’s an adventure that I had when I was living in Cairo, Egypt. I had arrived there two months ago and I loved Egypt and the pyramids. The first day of the holidays I took the day to visit the pyramids.

At ten o’clock every day many buses left the city and go to the pyramids full of tourists. After three pyramids, the bus stopped in the last one, small and discarded. I entered with a family and a girl. The family turn left to a corridor and I and the girl were watching the hieroglyphics. Without realising I pressed a picture of a bird and the brick went inside of the wall. A door appeared in front of me. I didn’t know what had happened. The girl looked me surprised and she introduced herself. Her name was Lisa and she was from London. After a small conversation we entered in the door. There was a tunnel after the door. We continued walking and then we arrived to a room. Suddenly, the walls began to move and the room was becoming more and more small. Luckily there was a small door in the floor and we appeared in other room, that was very big and plenty of things. It was the treasure of a pharaoh.

Ten minutes later, many people were around the pyramid. Before many questions of newspapermans, it had arrived the moment to return to my house so I said goodbye to her. I haven’t seen her for ages, but I know she will always be my friend because of that day.
