PIRACY

Nowadays everybody listens to music, sees films and reads books, every day or almost sometimes. Purchasing all these things used to be very expensive, at least in Spain, and a lot of people have decided to get them using internet and paying nothing.

Even though piracy is not legal and that damages artists and writers making them earn less money, that’s the easiest and cheapest way to get culture. From my point of view, it is not unethical because all the things people get from the internet have been made to get as many people as possible, and piracy lets this come true.

Despite artists earn less money, people who don’t have any money to spend can get CDs, books, etc. so as to be equal as the others. I think piracy means equality and makes no difference between rich and poor people. Besides equality, piracy offers more possibilities to everybody and lets people be more open-minded.

Even so, piracy could decrease if companies decided to sell their products cheaper, although they could think it wouldn’t be useful, I’m sure the sales are going to increase in the near future, and it’s better to earn little money than earn nothing.
