Parents should keep an eye on their children when they use Facebook.

Social sites are a very dangerous phenomenon if you don’t know how to use them or if you aren’t aware of the problems that can arise.

I think parents should keep an eye on their children when they are using Facebook until a certain age, until they are old enough to know how to use these websites as well as knowing how they have to be careful with what they write and talk about on their blogs. A child could innocently tell somebody that they are going on holiday and someone might burgle their house while they are away. Also a child could easily start talking to someone who tells them lies for example about their age, appearance or profession and might ask to meet them which could be very dangerous.

I believe it would help if children had talks at schools to make them aware of the dangers and to tell them how careful they should be when using these websites, as children don’t always listen to their parents.
