The tatoos have always been a fashion accesory, especially for young people.We can see millions of differents original tatoos; there are small tatoos, larger ones and some with a lot of differents colours involved.
A lot of youngs simply for be more popular has a tatoo eventhought ... is very painful.

Personally, I am not in favor of people having a tattoo. I have differents reasons why I don't think it would be a good idea to have a tattoo, especially when you are young.Firstly, I think that having a tattoo is very unhealthy for the body and it's so inecessary to cause pain to yourself. Furthermore, the worst problem of having a tattoo is to find a job, because a lot of companies do not allow that their employers have visible tattoos.

In conclussion, I think that a visible tattoo is very relevant to work in a job, especually if the work consist in having direct contact with the customers.As a result, it's better not to have any tattoo.

House swapping

House swapping have advantages and disavantages too.

On the one hand, house swapping is the best way to go on holiday without spend money became the only thing that you have to do is looking for ?? the house while the owners are back.?? Furthermore, you can enjoy in the house using all the things that there are.

In the other hand, hause swapping have an important desavantage because the things can go wrong. The house sitters can hit something, forget to do the maintenance of the swimingpool.

Because of that, someone can think that there ir no compensation, but in my opinion, house swapping is a good system that if you chose a good hause sitters it's not necessary that the thing go wrong.
As a result, I think that the next summer I am going to swap my home for the holiday, it's a good idea!

Love in Paris

When I just turned 18 I was offered the opportunity to go and study to the university of my dreams in Paris. I didn't doubt at all to accept the fabulous opportunity and I moved to Paris.

The university was perfect: big, beautiful, with large gardens; and the most important thing, the people were really nice. When I arrived, at the beginning I stayed at the university campus and I met my clasmates. They showed me the city and we started to go out together. Those days I met a very handsome guy called John in the French class. I liked him since the first time I saw him. John and I started to date and our relationship grew.
We did some trips together during the course and we enjoyed ourselves a lot, and  I even met his familly . But soon the course finished and I had to go back to Madrid.

However, as we were really in love,  we decided to maintein a long-distance relationship. We decided to meet several times a month and talk on phone every day.

At first, the relationship was great but we started losing contact and unfortunately, bit by bit our love disappeared. At that moment I realized that long-distance relationships don't work.

Moving

One day while I was watching TV my parents called me, they asked me about my situation at school and my relationships with the classmates, I thought those questions were not very important and I just answered without thinking about it, but many days later my parents told me about changing home and college. I was astounded at first and I refused It to them, but I didn't have anything to do, my father had to change where he worked because he was promoted.

After that, I ran into my room and started to cry, I felt furious and miserable because if I had to change my college I would lose many friends like Bob, my best friend who I known since I have memory.

My mother came a few hours later to explain me the importance of moving to the new house and college, she said to me: A real friend  would never forget you, those words made me think about it and after a while I accepted the move. This happened a long time ago, I haven't seen Bob since that, but I know he will always be my friend.

My Holidays

That’s an adventure that I had when I was living in Cairo, Egypt. I had arrived there two months ago and I loved Egypt and the pyramids. The first day of the holidays I took the day to visit the pyramids.

At ten o’clock every day many buses left the city and go to the pyramids full of tourists. After three pyramids, the bus stopped in the last one, small and discarded. I entered with a family and a girl. The family turn left to a corridor and I and the girl were watching the hieroglyphics. Without realising I pressed a picture of a bird and the brick went inside of the wall. A door appeared in front of me. I didn’t know what had happened. The girl looked me surprised and she introduced herself. Her name was Lisa and she was from London. After a small conversation we entered in the door. There was a tunnel after the door. We continued walking and then we arrived to a room. Suddenly, the walls began to move and the room was becoming more and more small. Luckily there was a small door in the floor and we appeared in other room, that was very big and plenty of things. It was the treasure of a pharaoh.

Ten minutes later, many people were around the pyramid. Before many questions of newspapermans, it had arrived the moment to return to my house so I said goodbye to her. I haven’t seen her for ages, but I know she will always be my friend because of that day.

THE LIFETIME

Three years ago,  I was invited to a party of a friend of mine. He was celebrating his 18th birthday and his parents organized a fantastic party for him;  there was good music and there were many people.  I was having a great time, when suddenly I met a girl. Her name was Susan, she was very kind, funny and pretty. We spent the rest of the night talking and laughing together. It was love at first sight.

After that party, I started flirting with her and after a few weeks we started going out. I loved her and she loved me, all was perfect. However, I had to tell her that next month I was leaving Menorca because of my studies. When I told her, she said that we could still be together.

After a few months, I started living in Barcelona, I fell out of touch with her and we grew apart and spoke less and less to each other. At that moment I realized that long-distance relationships don’t work. Finally, 3 weeks ago we split up, however, I still love her.

It all started during our Christmas holidays, when Sara travelled with her family to celebrate the Christmas holidays with her parent’s friends in a tiny village near the forest. Sara didn’t want to go because she remembered ancient and empty the village of other years.

                                                              

First of all, Sara and her family arrived at the village and went to see the friends who were waiting in the village square. Sara was surprised because there was a boy of her age who hadn’t gone the other years, and she feeling love at first sight. After that them all went home and Sara took a walk. Sara’s mother told her to go back soon at home but one thing happened that changed the Sara’s holidays. She was walking in the village when she saw the boy alone sitting on a bench, she didn’t know what to do but suddenly the boy called her. Although she was very nervous, she went to him. They started to talk and got on well, however they had to return home because it was late. Then they made out and Sara couldn’t believe what had happened. She arrived home hilarious and her mother didn’t know what had happened. Sara and Alberto continued to see each other every day, and on Christmas day they spent all night together, they fell in love. But the Christmas holidays were finishing and it was time to return to their city. Since they had fallen in love they decided to have a long-distance relationship.

After the holidays, they continued to talk to each other every day, but the situation had changed because Sara believed that Alberto was different. Although they had an argument they tried to patch up their differences but the relationship didn’t work. At that moment they realized that long-distance relationships don’t work and they decided to become friends since they had had good moments.

"The night of San Juan"

It all started on the summer of 2003. Was a special day, it was the night of San Juan, where people spent the night on the beach with their friends and families. I was with my friends; we talked and dinner until twelve. After this, at twelve, we went swimming and when we went to dry off we realized that a new group had arrived at the beach. We were all the same aye and there I met Alex.

Alex was a friendly boy and we got on well. We were talked all night and then, when it was time to go, I gave him my phone number and he gave me his. In the following days I didn’t know anything about him but finally he phoned me and we went out. That day we kissed for the first time and since then we began a relationship. I fell in love with Alex and I felt that I could rely on him.

Everything was perfect and we chatted for a year. However, one day I learned that Alex had deceived me and he had been seeing another girl. Then I decided to split up with Alex. I was me heartbroken but I knew that I had to get over that. The days went by and I didn’t know anything about him but, then, one day he called me to clear the air. Finally, we patched up our differences and we decided to be friends. I haven’t seen him for ages, but I know he will always be my friend.

MY LOVER

When I was 20 years old, I started to go out with a girl from my university, we studied the

same thing, medicine. I met her the first day of university, and we fell in love, it was love at

first sight.

The first moths everything was fine, I loved her so much, and we used to do a lot of things together:

go to the cinema, go to the theatre, study medicine… Suddenly, every time I called her, she

didn’t answer the phone, and I didn’t know why. I tried to see her again to talk about what

had happened, but it was impossible. She was my first love and it took me three months to get

over.

After a few years I discovered her in a web and what had happened with her, I couldn’t believe

what this page said, this web said that she had died in a car accident. I tried to phone her

family and her friends, but it was too late. After knowing this I haven’t been the same

My friend

A few years ago a French boy lived in Sa Mesquida, where I spend all my summers. He has been living in France for eight years and for this reason I haven’t seen him for ages, but I know he will always be my friend. This summer to my surprise he came again and he has shown me that in fact he is one of my best friends.

When he lived in Sa Mesquida we were always together and with other summer friends we went to swim, to play, to have dinner together, to the beach, on excursions, etc. He was very friendly and he was always hilarious. But one day he was very sad and we want to know what had happened. After that, he told us that his father had to return to France because of his job.

This year he was back to Menorca and we were together for one week and we found out that our friendship was the same as when we were children and he lived in Sa Mesquida. I’m very happy to have seen him again.

Long-distance relationship

A year ago my boyfriend decided to go to study to Barcelona, we spent all the summer

together, but finally the time to be apart arrived. We decided to have a

long-distance relationship, and at first everything was fine.

I went to Barcelona once and he came to see me a few times but suddenly, I

realized that every time I called him, he didn’t answer the phone. Later, I realized that

at the same time he was with me, he was dating another girl and I decided to

break up with him. That week I felt very sad and my friend was a good shoulder to cry on.

Finally, he regretted having deceived me and told me that he wanted to go back with me.

Despite his insistence of changing, I didn’t feel like having a long-distance relationship

with him at that moment so I told him to never phone me again.

MY NEW TOWN

When my family had got to the town they received us very well. For this reason we were very comfortable. And everybody wanted to help us for settle.

When I had to go to school I had to meet new people and to adapt. One day I was very sad and one day my new friend asked me what had happened I told him. I met my best friend who was my first friend ever time. Nevertheless, my best friend, whose name was Anthony, and me had a fights. Because of a girl. One day I had to go to another city. Since them we haven't seen each other. So I haven't seem him for ages, although I know he will always be my friend. In spite fighting I wanted him to try to reconcile. Nevertheless, one day we met again. At that moment we didn't remember what had happened when we were young.

When we remember the fight, we become be best friend. Because we know that was nothing. And now we are old and we have a family and we accepted that was nothing.

My trip to New York

Ten years ago I went to New York alone for a job interview at a multinational headquarters. One day I was walking in New York searching for the headquarters when suddenly, I crashed head-on into a girl who was drinking coffee and she spilt some on her dress. I was so sorry. In spite of having gotten her dress dirty, she forgave me. I was speaking to her about buying her a new dress but she refused instead I invited her fot a coffee the next day.I arranged to meet her the next day to have a coffee. We went to have a coffee in an awesome snack bar. I explained to her what I was doing in New York and she explained to me that she was working in a similar place. We saw each other often during my stay in New York and we became close friends. On the day of my return home, she came to say goodbye at the airport, which was sad, but I had to go back because my contract was over. We said goodbye and I left although I wanted to stay there.
After ten years, I haven’t seen her, but I know she will always be my friend.

A heartbreaking story

When I was young, I was a handsome guy with blonde hair. At the age of sixteen I had a very beautiful girlfriend called Lucy. She was fifteen and she was very clever. We started hanging out a lot, we were going to the movies, we went to the Parks and many other things.

One year later, thing were going very well, we were both in love with each other. Lucy's parents were not having a good relationship, so they split up. Lucy's mum decided to live in Italy. Lucy wanted to go with her mum, because she didn't like her dad a lot, but she didn't want to leave me.

Finally she decided to leave with her mum to Italy , she told me to keep in contact every day and that whenever she could come to Spain she would go. The first weeks we talked a lot, but after some months, we started to grow apart. Suddenly, every time I called her, she didn't answer the phone. The next day she called me, saying she was seeing another guy. I was heartbroken for weeks, but after that, I realized I had to keep on with my life, and that is what I did.

A SUMMER LOVE

This summer I met a boy in a party, since the first moment we connect and enjoyed the next three days talking. He explained me that at the beginning of next month he had to go to a city far away to study.We agreed to meet on the third day. 
Although he came in his car, we spent the day walking around the city.I remember as the words left his mouth and the glitter of his eyes hypnotizing me.
Later we take the car and went to an unspoilt beach where we lay on the sand starring at the stars. All of a sudden he put a beautiful song and the time was magical. 
When the song had finished, we looked into each other's eyes, something was shining, we got closer, slowly, until our lips met. When the kiss ended, the moon was hiding and we admit that ever since the first moment we had interested in the other. 


After that we had fallen in love, like in the movies.The time went and we realized that despite our love, we were very different. 
The distance was a problem. At the end, we split up. It was a short relationship, however it was passionate. Maybe, if he had not had to go away everything had been well. At that moment, I realized that long-distance relationships don't work.

I always remember when I met Nat. One night of my holidays, I was in Barcelona, in a disco, I met a girl called Natalia. She was funny and gorgeous, and after dancing that night with her, she gave me her phone number.The next day, I called her and we went to a concert together. That was another excellent night, and after the concert, I worked up the courage and I asked her to go out with me, and she said: Yes! Of course! I was really happy that night. The next days, we were together all the time. We had our differences, but we always got over the differences and made it up. We had
fantastic moments together, and it seemed that we were going steady. I was delighted with her, and she too with me.  Problems started when my holidays finished and I had to return to Menorca. When I returned, I had terrible days because I missed her a lot, and she missed me too. At that moment I realized that long-distance relationships don’t work. Finally, we started going out with
other people, because we couldn't be together.

The end of the girl

It was a wekeend. There was a girl alone in her house because her parents had gone away. This girl was called Teresa and she was 15 years old. She had a good friend, called Pedro but she didn't know that he was falling in love. They went to the same scool.

On Saturday while she was having breakfast she suddenly heard a nosier. She was very frightened and she decided to call her friend. Pedro answered that he would arrive in twenty minutes. An hour had passed and he didn't appear. Furthermore, she was really nervous and as a result she didn't know what to do. Suddenly she heard a new noise so that every time she called him, he didn't answer the phone. She tried to phone him and she listened to music in the bathroom, she decided to go to the bathdroom. When she arrived in front of the door she heard a new noise, wich came from the living room. She went to the bathdroom when he suddenly saw her friend dead.

When she left the bathroom she didn't know what had happened, as a result that she thought she was going crazy. Finally a man from behind caught her and this was moment when her life finished.

IMPOSSIBLE TO RELY ON SOMEONE

This story of love, or not of love, started three years ago in a disco. There were a lot of people. It was love at first sight for us. Susan was a nice and funny girl, she had long brown hair and dark eyes. Also, she looked quite pretty. I was tall with short blond hair and blue eyes. I think I looked attractive and strong. She was dancing with her friends when I began to chat her up. As a result, we clicked as soon as we met.

A few months later, we started going out together and it was a true love story. However, it all changed when I met Kate’s mother. She was a young mother, she was only 30, her daughter 18. She was gorgeous and really appealing but she wasn't very nice with me beacause she didn’t agree with the age difference between us… I was 24 and she thought that 6 years were too many. She even was upset and threw me out. I didn't understand it. Nevertheless, the next day, despite the last night, I received an SMS which said “We will meet at 10am at home. My daughter will be at school”. I was astounded… Kathy was my mother-in-law! In spite of this, I went to Kathy’s home. When I arrived, Kathy said that she was really smitten for me and her daughter wouldn’t know anything about our relationship. I realised that I didn’t really love Kate, so I started to cheat on her. One day, we met at home and the worst thing that could happen, happened. Kate finished classes earlier, so she went to visit me. She didn’t tell me to give a surprise. But the surprised was her… When she opened the door she found me having an affair with a woman, and that woman was her mother!

Kate was really amazed, she couldn’t say anything, she went out as fast as she could. She was heartbroken and devastated. Hours later, I worked up the courage and I tried to call her but it was useless. Suddenly, every time I called her, she didn't answer the phone, so I decided go to her house and speak. When I arrived, the door was opened and the silence reigned. It was unbelievable what I was seeing there. She was lying down on her bed and it was full of blood. She was dead, she had committed suicide... I couldn't say a word... I was absolutely astounded... I had really, really screwed her up. She was betrayed and she couldn't get over it.

Love story

One morning Marine was near her little house thinking about her future plans.

She wanted to be a famous star and travel around the world but she hadn't enough money for that. She loved singing, dancing and obviously, she loved to be the center of everything.

That day a young man was walking near her house, because he was hunting hares. He had a crush on her immediately. But there was a problem: she didn’t believe in love. She believed fall in love with somebody was so stupid.

He introduced himself to her and they became friends. They got on well but he needed to tell her about his felling. He loved her more and more, but he didn't have the courage.

One day they are playing with Marine’s dog. He had the courage to tell her that he was in love with her. Although they moved away for a long time, he was always thinking of her.

A rainy day she went to take fruits near her house, suddenly when she was taking one she fell and he arrived in time to catch her. She realized that she really loved him. She decided to give him a chance and she didn’t regret it.

FRIEND FOREVER

I am going to tell you about six girl friends of mine. One of them is the most important because we have knownn each other for ages. We have grown up in the same town, and when we were children we used to go to the same school.
But, unfortunately, we have had to get separated since we will study abroad. I also have a boyfriend called Arnau.


What about the five other friends of mine? They are also very close friends. We met three years ago and we have been studying together at the same school.
When my best friend Aurora travelled to Rome I went to London. For this reason we have lost contact with our four friends since they have remained in Spain. Although Aurora and I keep in touch, it’s only by email.
However, my boyfriend is still in Menorca so he is looking forward to coming London to join me, which causes thrills me much emotion.
My love affair with Arnau upsets Aurora, she feels a little bit jealous. Consequently, she stopped sending me emails for few weeks, which makes me very sad.


After two months without any news from Aurora, I decided to call her. We had a very long conversation, we explained our arguments and we felt that our friendship was very strong and reliable.

Finally, my boyfriend arrived in London. We are both studying at the University. Aurora, in Rome, is very happy too, she met many foreign students. We are in touch with her.
Although I haven’t seen her for ages, I know she will always be my friend.

I had never thought that it was my history of love. I am going to tell you how I met my wife it most have been destiny.

Two years ago, while I was watching the television at home the phone rang... I answered it. It was the police, they noticed me that my sister had suffered an accident. She was in a coma, so I went to the hospital to look after her. When I arrived I was very worried and I was rushing to see her. I entered in the room, she lived with the help of a machine. I stayed all the night with her and I met her nurse. She was very friendly and she helped me to accept the situation. Every day I went to the hospital to see her, so everyday I speack with the nurse. One year later, my sister waked up I was very funny I gave him my thanks. Then I started to go out with Maria, who had been my sister’s nurse. We falled in love. One day we were having dinner in a restaurant and an old friend of mine greeted me, Marta got jealous and she left me. Suddenly, every time I called her, she didn’t answer the phone… One day I found her in her street and I explained her that she was an old friend, who I haven’t seen her since we were twelve. She didn’t believe me and she left and I started to chase her and suddenly a car knock me down. When I got well Marta kissed me and she explained me that she had been spoken with the other girl and they clarify the situation.

Now we are going to get married and Marta is pregnant, we are goint to have a baby. It is funny because we knew ourselves in a hospital and we falled in love in the same place.

A scare at the party

NARRATIVE

My friends and I were having a party in my house, in La Argentina, because we were celebrating one of our friend’s birthday, Carlos. We were twenty people, although we were many people, the party was going well.

We ate, drank, spoke and played. We were having a good time until, suddenly, the lights went out and we were very frightened. In addition, the weather was bad, there was a big storm and it rained all night. In fact, the situation looked like a horror film. Moreover, while we were in the living room we saw a strange shadow across the window and then, we noticed that one of the axes that my father uses to work wasn’t in its place.

Then we took some pans and the mobile phones to go carefully around the house. When we were in the kitchen, we saw one of our friends lying with blood!!

Fortunately everything had a reason: the shadow was my cat, the axe was behind a tin and we didn’t see it, and also the blood wasn’t really blood it was ketchup, my friend was joking. Luckily everything was a scare but we spent a really good night.

When I was 8 I met Alfonsito, my imaginary friend, he was a little boy, who I saw him all nights, when he came my room, then he told me stories of his life, However, he never told me how he died.
One day, he told me, he died in a car accident when he was 7.
Every year he turnd more trasparent, finally he disappeared on my 18 birthday. Although I knew that would happen, I wasn't prepared.
But, even though  I haven’t seen him for ages, I know he will always be my friend, and although I don't see him, I know he is with me.

I am 88 years old, I know when I die, I will see him, also the day before of his disappearence, he said to me where I could find him.

Long-distance relationships don't work

Five years ago I used to be  an astronaut. I used to have an extreme life, always on the move, never settled down anywhere. My life was about studying astronomy, investigating anything to do with space, and at the same time I was quite a succesful musician. During my music career, I formed a music band and I met a girl who turned out to be a very  important person in my life.

Everything was going perfectly, I couldn't possibly complain in any way at all.One day, I was asigned a very important mission, which involved going to the moon. Of course this mission was planned to last a year, and communication with Earth was a complicated task. At first, I was enjoying myself and I learned so many things. I couldn't play any music, and that was very frustrating, but I met new people working on the same project. I kept thinking about what my girlfriend was up to, I never stopped thinking about her, even though I didn't know if she would be  thinking the same thing.

After so many months up in space, I realised that things weren't gonna work out. She probably would have forgotten about me, It was a mistake to have that kind of job and be in a relationship.At that moment I realized long-distance relationships don't work.

My friend Carla has had a very difficult couple of months, it all started since her boyfriend Pupo left the island to go back to his own country Cuba. They had been together for almost a year and they were madly in love with each other, they did everything together and you could never see one without the other, they were the perfect couple.

I remember that day like it was yesterday, that day when Pupo told her he had to leave the island for being an illegal immigrant and was being sent back to Cuba. As soon as he told her, she called me and urged me to come see her, I could sense that there was something wrong with her just by hearing the tone of her voice. When I got to Carla's house, I found her crying in the bedroom, she was the saddest that I've ever seen her be. I felt so sorry for her and so angry with myself for not being able to do anything for her, they were so perfect for each other and now he had to leave. A couple of days went by and Pupo was leaving for Cuba, before leaving he promised Carla that he would come back and till then they could do a long-distance relationship, she agreed and promised to never forget him. I knew it would be tough on them both but I though that if anybody can make a long-distance relationship work it would be them two.

As time gone by Carla still felt like there was something missing, I tried to cheer her up by organizing a surprise party, it was a big mistake. The party was going great until Carla drank too much and started being angry with everyone and left, I was worried sick trying to find her, God knows what she could do. The next day police called me, Carla committed suicide, at that moment I realized that long-distance relationships don’t work,they could not work because the relationship is just not strong enough and people start to cheat or you miss your partner just too much.

When I was young

Years ago I to leave of my village that is lost in the mountains. I remembering the snow and coffee shops full of people drinking hot chocolate in the winter. But one thing I will never forget…Paula. She was my best friend. I remember that she was extroverted and dreamed of becoming an actress and who laugh is contagious.


We always went everywhere together, we lived thousands of adventures, however I remember one with most excitation is when we went to pick mushrooms so we hadn't realized that it was got dark ant we lost, until a man who has been living in the mountain found us and he took us his home. He was 50 years old and his name was Bernart. He told us many stories of when he was young. When we had warmed up he approaching at the village and our mothers quarreled us, but we only remember the stories we had told Bernart.


Paula and I went to seen him twice a week, until I left to study in the city, since then I haven’t seen them for ages, but I know them will always be my friend…

MY FRIEND KIDNAPPED

For the last few years, Fran has been missing and no one knows where he is. The police of the city think that he was raptured. The first two years, the people of the town had a little hope that Fran returned, but it was not. Gradually, this hope vanished.

Fran and I were good friends and we always passed our free time together. I met him when I was five years old. When I was younger I live in another city and when we moved to Mahón, we started to live next to Fran’s house, since there we became friends, because he helped me to feel better when I had no friends, and we began to do everything together, when I was with him I felt happier than ever, because he always made ​​me laugh and made me forget about everything.

During the last years, I have not lost hope of seeing him again, because I know that he is a person with a strong personality and he would get back. Although he has been missing for ten years and I haven’t seen him for ages, I know he will always be my friend, and he always be in my heart.

Under the bed and goodbye.

One day I went to a party to a friend’s house. We were playing hide and seek, I hid under a bed and there was a boy too. We were scared when we saw each other, and ended up laughing. Due to this, we became friends, and finally, we started dating. I was very happy! He was funny, loving and very understandable.


One day, he invited me to dinner in his house. That day, I was at home very bored and I fell asleep. When I woke up, I realized that I would be late, and I decided not to go. I was very worried and sad. Suddenly, every time I called him, he didn’t answer the phone. He stopped coming to school, nobody knew anything about him, and I was destroyed.


After a week, I received a call from him! I was very happy to listen to his voice! He explained to me that his mother had told him that they had to move to Germany, because his father had found a job there, and he couldn’t say goodbye to anyone. We decided to call each other every day, and for the moment the relationship goes well, although I miss him a lot.

That lovely boy

Yesterday I met John for the second time. We have been dating for a week, so now he's my boyfriend. I first saw him two weeks ago, at my best friend’s party. She invited him even though I didn't know him. She introduced him to me and talked for an hour. It was love at first sight, he was gorgeous and I really liked his personality even if I had only known him for an hour. I knew we would end up together, and after two days he asked me out.
Everything was perfect with him, he took me to lovely places, and he was very intentional. But a few days later he was acting strange and suddenly, every time i called him, he didn't answer the phone. I started to worry, but his close friends said to me that this behaviour was normal, that he has moments like this when he wants to be alone. I thought that wasn't normal, because I was his girlfriend I had to know if he had problems, to maybe try to help him.The following day I went to his house and he explained to me that his grandmother had died and that was the reason for his sadness. He said to me that he was sorry, and after that we have always said everything to each other, because that helpes our relation ship to get stronger.

A friendship that will last forever

I'll always remember my best friend, he's a short, smart and kind boy, named Nicolas, from Argentina. The first time we met was when we were four years old in kindergarten, but the unusual about that was that we were neighbours and we'd never met before!

Afer two years of friendship, my parents decided to move to Spain in order to find a better job. I was very sad and I barely remember our childhood together because of the ages, but two years ago we started ti chat by Facebook and e-mail. At first, it was very strange for me and I couldn't get used to getting in touch with him by Internet, but I realised it was more practical tahn phoning each other because of the time difference. After that, I went to Argentina for two weeks and we met a few times. When I had to come back, we agreed to get in touch.

I haven't seen him for ages, but I know he'll always be my friend and we can count on each other. I hope one day we have the chance to meet again and have a great time together.

The power of friendship

When I was a child I met a girl who lived one street down from mine. Our parents were friends and we saw each other very often so we soon became friends. We always spent good times together. We gradually grew and became best friends. We shared secrets, confessions, adventures and many experiences.

One day she called me and told me that she had something very important to tell me. I realised that she was very sad so I went quickly to her house. When I arrived I saw a lot of boxes and she told me that her father had a new job and they had to move immediately to another city. We were both very sad but we promised that we would call each other very often. We did but as we grew up it was difficult to keep the same contact as before.

Now, many years later, we call each other twice a year to see how we are. Although I haven’t seen her for ages I know she will always be my friend for all the moments we lived together.

MY LAST ADVENTURE

Two years ago, I and Mark were in Australia in summer holidays. Every day we did something different; we went to the beach, we visited museums, we went shopping…

 Last day, Mark wanted to go sailing on the beach but I didn’t want to go because I was tired and I had to make bags.  At the moment he went there, started a big storm. Suddenly, every time I called him, he didn’t answer phone and I became to be worry for him. Then I went to the beach to look for Mark but I didn’t find him. Consequently, I returned to the hotel and I waited for hours. Finally, he phoned me 5 hours later and he explained me he had been swimming because a wave capsized the boat. Despite staying much time in the water, people arrived to the shore and, after that, everyone returned to them houses.

Fortunately nobody had wounds and Mark and I could return to London. When we arrived there, we have explained that day to everyone of our family. They laughed a lot. 

THROUGH THICK AND THIN (CORRECTED)

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a tinny fish living in the huge ocean. His name was Freddy fish. He didn’t have many friends because he didn’t like to speak much. However, he had me, an obese and coward shark but with a gigantic heart.


We used to spend all day long playing wii and having a lot of fun with the hilarious jellyfish. Everybody knew we were best friends for life. However, not everything in this story is happiness. One day after work, Freddy and I were having tea when a group of mermaids (the rulers of the sea) came to visit my friend. I was terrified, their visits never happened for a good reason. I stayed calm. They came, took Freddy and went away. I could not believe what just had happened! They had taken my soul mate away! I worked up the courage and went to the cave where the mermaids had Freddy. I was so furious, I wanted to screw them up, but I didn’t know how. I had only one possibility: go inside the cave and fight for my friend. So I did, yet to my surprise, Freddy was playing wii and having fun with the mermaids like we used to do! He betrayed me; he preferred to play with them only because they had the new wii 2. I was absolutely heartbroken. Suddenly, Freddy saw me. I was so devastated that he came to see what was going on with me. After a few talking, we cleared the air (in this case the water) and tried to be friends again. After that, we fell apart. I haven’t seen him for ages, but I know he will always be my friend, no matter where he is right now I will not forget all the things we have gone through.

Narrative

 It had been an exciting year, one that had paid off.  I had managed to successfully rob a bank of 2.5 million dollars.  It was an extremely careful and precise operation.  It had taken a year just to plan.  We were collecting information, shift changes, camera positions, etc.

  There were four of us, Jack, Nico, my girlfriend and me.  It had started smoothly, everything was going to plan but someone had managed to call the police and a SWAT team had been called in.  Before we knew it shots were fired and adrenaline was pumping through us.  Seconds felt like hours as bullets flew past our heads, at least most of our heads, Jack had been shot.

  In the end we managed to get away but we had to split up, each of us with an equal share of the money, and we went our separate ways.  I felt like I was meant to be with my girlfriend at the time but once we were separated it was hard to stay in touch, the feelings we had for each other had diminished.  At that moment I realized that long-distance relationships don’t work.

A really good friend

It was two years ago when I met one of the most important persons of my life. I met her by mutual friends in Sant Joan . She was very cheerful and extroverted and soon we became great friends.

In a short time she became my confident and my close friend, she was always there when I needed her and she made me smile when no one could. We spent all the summer together: we went to the beach every afternoon and we spent hours and hours talking and laughing.

One day, she told me that she had something very important to tell me. I was very nervous because I had no idea what was happening. My friend had to go to Barcelona to study. I was very sad because thought we would lose our friendship and in  these moments I needed more than ever.

Nowadays we have the same relationship or even better, every day we phone each other and spend a lot of time speaking at the phone and every time she comes to Menorca or I go to Barcelona we see us..

                                             

Travel abroad



Nowadays, many people travel to find a better job or to study abroad. This would be my case because I’m from Morocco and I came Minorca and left my friends there.



When I was 8 years old, my parents told me that we would travel abroad because there they hadn’t a job, so I started to convince myself because this decision was very difficult for me as I had to leave all my friends there. So when I told my best friend about this topic, she was sad like me. However, we promised to call each other constantly.

Then the moment arrived to say goodbye so I said goodbye to all my friends and I travelled to Spain. At the beginning everything was difficult for me because on the one hand I didn’t speak very well the language and on the other hand I didn’t know anyone .Nevertheless, I phoned my best friend every day because I felt lonely here.



Afterwards, I adapted to the new culture and lived without my friends as I met many very interesting people also I continued phoning my best friend from morocco until now.

That’s why I haven’t seen her for ages, but I know she will always be my friend so I hope go and visit her this summer.

My Trip to London

I will always remember the summer of 2009. I was determined to do something different; however I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do. Finally, I decided to go to London with my cousin and as we didn’t have too much money we decided to go to a hostel and share a room with someone we didn’t know. Our roommate was Katherine, a very funny and nice girl. That was the third time that Katherine had been in London and she offered us to be our guide.

The first day we visited  Big Ben and then we went to Oxford St to spend the afternoon around there. During those two weeks we visited a lot of places and museums. We also went to Greenwich to see the meridian. Moreover, we talked a lot so we could get to know each other well and we realized that we had a lot of things in common so we became very close friends.

The last day we stayed there we made a farewell party and it was very emotional. We exchanged our e-mails and telephone numbers so we keep in touch. I haven’t seen her for ages, but I know she will always be my friend.

Long - distance Relationship

When I was 18 years old I was in love witha pretty and funny girlfriend. All was fineand we spent a great time together. It was very beautiful but there were a problem, we were eighteen and we had to go to study to different universities.

Initially, we thought that we would be able to keep our relationship, but really we didn’t think that; we were trying to convince each other.

The three first months, we talked every day and we tried to keep our relationship but the distance was bad. So one day she phoned me and we had got a very sad conversation and we split up. At that moment I realized that long-distance relationship don't work, that was told me by my father, who tried to convince me before I went to university. I was very in love to remember that so when we split it up I remembered it and my father was right.

Are you sure?

 Marriage is considered one of the objectives in life because society shows it like a method to have a fantastic life. When you get engaged with someone you promise him to live all your life and love each other until death. For this reason, marriage is one of the most important decisions in your life.

Marriage has always been evidence that two persons are in love with each other. As a result, marriage has become the goal of most relationships. Two people get married when they are really smitten with each other, nevertheless in some cultures it’s forbidden to marry with the same sex because “it’s not human” and some people hate this homosexual behavior. In spite of these reviews, marriage is an important decision that you have to choose when you are ready; therefore it’s better to get married later. Another reason why it’s better to get married later is that people cheat on or divorce, because if you get married early and you aren’t sure, in the future your marriage could be a disaster owing to the bad choice, and this could end up with divorce or your couple could deceive you. As a result, you could throw an important part of your life to the bin, and life is too short to waste it, even so you could have spent a good life but you could be heartbroken.

Definitely it’s better to get married later because you can choose the perfect couple and have a fantastic life loving each other until death. That’s why I think it’s better to get married later.

Breaking up over the phone

It’s still hard for me to think about the day I broke up with my girlfriend two months ago. It was a cold rainy day and it was about midnight. I was alone at home when my phone rang. That was the end of our relationship.

My girlfriend and me had been going out for three months. I admit I’m quite surprised that we split up, because we really got on very well the first day we met. However, we didn’t see eye to eye for much time. In fact, we started growing apart a month later. I first noticed she was a bit more distant when we went for a walk on her birthday. Her face expressed some kind of sadness I had never seen before, and it seemed to me that she felt more and more uncomfortable as the night was going on until she went home without saying a thing. Suddenly, every time I called her, she didn’t answer the phone, and she stood me up many times as well, so I finally thought she was holding something back from me.

As I had imagined, she was cheating on me. At first, it was just a suspicion, but it was crystal clear when I saw her flirting with whom I thought was just her best friend. She sent me a message saying that she felt so sorry that she had fallen for Tom. Even if she felt guilty, I think she might at least have told me personally.

A FRIGHT

During my childhood, I studied in CP Mare de Déu de Gràcia. There, I got on better with boys

than girls, so I played football, basketball and exchanged collecting cards with them. I met a

boy called Jordi who was very friendly and he was always happy.



We started to talk to each other, to sit together and we discovered that we had a lot of

things in common, above all, a TV series called “Detective Conan”. Every morning, we

commented the chapter that we had seen the day before and we spend the entire course

watching the series and, finally, we decided that we would be detectives.

Summer arrivd and we decided that we would continue watching the series and we

would call each other every evening. We started doing it at it was very funny!

Suddenly, every time I called him, he didn’t answer the phone. First, I got a bit angry, but

later, I started to be worried. I called him home, to his mobile phone but he didn’t

answer me. I went to his home, but he wasn’t there. It was really strange.



Two weeks later, I went for a walk and I passed next-to his home. Suddenly I saw a

boy, he was Jordi! I ran to him and I embraced him. I asked where he had been all those

weeks, and he told me that he had gone to Asturias to see his family, but he hadn’t told me

because the trip was a surprise, and he didn’t know until the last day.

Are long-distance relationships reliable?

I’ll always remember my last summer holiday. It all began when my old friend Mike called me one night. It was ages since we last talked to each other, so I thought that he wanted to tell me something important. Certainly, he needed a shoulder to cry on, and as he seemed really concerned, I decided to visit him.

By the time I arrived in Barcelona, Mike was waiting for me at the airport. He had changed a lot since the last time I saw him. We decided to have lunch at a restaurant and, during the meal, he explained to me all his problems. He had started a relationship with a woman, Mary, and they were so happy during the first months. Just when they were at the summit of the relationship, Mary told him that she had to move to America because of her job. However, she would return to Spain in a year. Despite their promises of being in touch, they began to grow apart. She didn’t answer Mike’s phone calls, moreover, she didn’t return after a year, so he concluded that Mary was cheating on him. Their relationship was over. At that moment, I realized that long-distance relationships don’t work at all, and I felt so sorry for my friend. Mike has always been a good guy, he didn’t deserve it.   

As we hadn’t seen each other for a long time, we had always something to talk about, and I realized that we had many things in common. We became really good friends, so we decided to meet more frequently. Nevertheless, I sometimes wonder if our friendship will end like his relationship with Mary ended.

THE MOTORBIKE ACCIDENT

Pedro has been my friend since I was a child. I remember him every day and he was a very important person in my life, but one day he was a terrible accident with his motorbike. 

He woke up late because he had been studying for his English exam until 2 o’clock morning. He go out of bed, got dressed, got his bag and went out on his motorbike to arrive at school in time for the exam. 

It had been raining all night and the roads were wet and slippery. He was in a hurry and going too fast. He approached the roundabouts and began to turn, but slipped on the wet road and fell off the motorbike and went under the car. The driver stopped his car and tried to help Pedro. There was a lot of blood on the road, the man called an ambulance and waited with Pedro. 

Pedro spent a long time in hospital, but the doctors couldn’t do anything to save his life. That’s the reason why I haven’t seen him for ages, but I know he will always be my friend though he is dead.

The long-distance relationships

I have a friend who has a problem very common in our age. This name's Mike, lives in Barcelona and when he was sixteen he met a girl who changed his life. She's very beautiful and nice. He met her when his friend Tom introduced him to her. The first time that Mike saw her he fell in love at first sight. Later, when he knew her well, he fell in love with Anne. Their relationship seemed to be going well, but Anne finished her holidays and she had to return to Madrid, the city where she lives. That’s the problem.



When she went back home, Mike felt bad because he had a crush on her. He spent a difficult moments, and his friends too. He missed Anne and, as a result, he didn’t pay attention to other girls. Anne was his world. Their friend tried to talk with him and say that he should forget her, however, he continued being obsess with her. Really, he was so bad. Despite the distance, he thought of her every day and, sometimes, they talked on Facebook and on the phone. He didn’t dare to ask her if she missed him too or if she felt the same. Mike wanted to die when he imagined Anne in the arms of another boy; nevertheless, he didn’t talk to her about this.



Actually, they grew apart for a year and the problems went again with the summer. He thought that things would be like last summer ans she would jump in his arms. All the same, it seemed that she had forgotten him and she spent all the summer flirting with a friend of Mike’s and mine. You can imagine the situation. He spent all the holidays trying to win her heart, but she didn’t want to smitten. In addition, Mike had a kind of relationship with another girl, Mary. She was really smitten with Mike, but Anne was Anne. In the last days of their holidays, Mike and Anne had a big row on telephone. He rubbed it in her face and she, crying, got really angry with him. Consequently, they passed a day afraid each other until he cleared the air and apologized for his behaviour.



As a result, they patched up their differences and passed together as friends the rest of the summer. Mike hid his feelings as good as is possible. Finally, she left Barcelona returning to the routine. He went to say goodbye to her. Moreover, he had bought her a gift. Nobody knows what it was, although I have heard that she cried of emotion. Now, they are friends and have a good relationship, he misses her though. Oh love! At that moment, I realized that long-distance relationships don’t work...
